(GxFR) CONWAY – CONWAY NOT HUMBLE!

  NEW FREESTYLE FROM R.O.S.

Sit down, not Humble.

Griselda Records / Shady Records signee Conway just dropped a new freestyle over Kendrick Lamar‘s “Humble” beat. The rapper goes in over Mike-WiLL’s production for nearly three uninterrupted minutes, and while Conway’s flow is slow to start, by the end he is absolutely spazzing. With album art shouting out Rob Zombie’s Captain Spaulding character, it’s only appropriate that Conway murders the beat.

While many have graced the Humble beat, nobody has held it down quite as effectively as Kendrick. Still, Conway turns in a valiant effort, and fans of the Buffalo rapper should definitely check this one out.Quotable LyricsI know how the brick look, I know how the whip cook
It ain’t Friday but my neighbors still can smell the fish cook
I just got the drop on the location where your bricks put
Hook him in his mouth and rip his cheek like its a fishhook

Roc Marciano Talks DOOM, Max B, Kendrick Lamar with Rosenberg

I saw a Roc Marciano interview pop up on Hot 97’s channel and I knew it had to be Rosenberg. Marci visited Real Late this week to talk about his new album Rosebudd’s Revenge and more. He speaks on his affinity for the city of Los Angeles and how he escapes distractions there, artists he’d like to work with including DOOM, Ghostface and Max B, his respect for Lil B and Young Thug and his thoughts on the new Kendrick Lamar album.

For much more on the creation of Rosebudd’s Revenge check out our special edition In The Lab feature with Roc on the album.

Kendrick Lamar Releases His New LP DAMN

Posted in 1 with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 16, 2017 by bobbybounce

Cornrow Kung-Fu Kenny is fucking back. Following his warning to the world that (ya’ll) had until April 7th to get (your) shit together, Kendrick Lamar delivers his fourth studio album DAMN. Lead by the already successful single “HUMBLE”, we didn’t know for sure that this album was actually coming until this time last week. With only the vague comments he made to the New York Times Magazine last month, and a few snippets shared by Lebron James on Thursday, where K.Dot was going with this project was anybody’s guess. During that interview with the Times, he indicated that the album would be urgent, spiritual and centered on community, his own and others like it around the globe.

He also offered the analogy of a protective father accepting and embracing the choices of his grown daughter: “Learning to accept it, and not run away from it, that’s how I want this album to feel.” Over the last few days we’ve also learned that Rihanna, U2 and LA singer Zacari are the only three guests, and the contributing producers and musicians include Mike WiLL Made-It, Alchemist, DJ Dahi, Sounwave, and BADBADNOTGOOD.

The album ended up leaking a few hours ago and if you haven’t had the pleasure yet, you should stop reading now and press play below immediately. Over the course of 14-tracks, Kendrick does indeed achieve that urgency and spirituality he was talking about. He’s as on point lyrically as ever and he absolutely brutalizes some of these beats, while gently slapping around others. I wouldn’t usually opine on an album after just one listen, but I honestly don’t believe there is a wack song on this. The opening track, “DNA,” is just as fire as advertised. “Element” and “Pride” are two personal standouts to me, and the sequence of “Lust,” “Love” and “XXX” are as good of a three track run as I’ve heard on an album in the last year. “Fear” is simply epic. And just wait until you get to the final verse of “Duckworth”. My goodness.

“…I run the genre, you’re all YOD’s pupils, spit the first quadruple entendre”

With his new album Packs bubbling, Your Old Droog stopped by Statik Selektah’s Showoff Radio a couple of weeks back and did what he does on a couple of different instrumentals over the course of nearly 4 minutes. #Dope
