FRED THE GODSON DIES FROM COVID-19

RIP Fred The Godson Dead From Coronavirus COVID-19

Hip Hop fans are suffering a major loss, as Fred The Godson has passed away from his battle with the Coronavirus. He was 35.

Two weeks ago, the South Bronx rapper first announced he had recently tested positive with the COVID-19. His wife revealed that her husband was kept in intensive care due to his asthma and infected kidneys, but showed signs of improvement for a full recovery as his ventilator support decreased by the day. However within the past few days, Fred’s condition got worse and he succumbed to the deadly disease.

Known for his keen lyrics and impactful punchlines, the underground rapper, also known as Gordo Frederico, released countless of projects during his successful career. Last month, Fred released his latest effort, Payback, as well as God Level last November. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and fans.

One of the best Gang Starr/ Guru DJ sets I have ever heard! DJ Premier played an incredible tribute to his Gang Starr partner Guru, on the 10th anniversary of his death via Instagram Live on April 19, 2020. The almost two hour mix included many rare cuts and b-sides that Guru has been featured on, as well as many Gang Starr favorites. Not only was Guru with us spiritually, but he was with Premo physically as well (his ashes were set on the DJ tables) – amazing!

Joining the live chat were many Gang Starr Foundation affiliates including: Jeru The Damaja, Big Shug, Bumpy Knuckles, Hannibal Stax, as well as D.I.T.C. family: Lord Finesse, Fat Joe, O.C. and many more true hip hop artists, DJs, and producers.

With an artwork designed by Virgil Abloh, the FLYGOD unleashes new music with 13 tracks. Guests include Conway The Machine, Benny The Butcher, Joey Bada$$, Tyler, The Creator, Wale, Freddie Gibbs, Roc Marciano, Boldy James, Joyce Wrice, Keisha Plum, and Cartier A Williams.

On the production side of things, DJ Premier, The Alchemist, Daringer, DJ Muggs, Tyler, The Creator, Jay Versace, and more lend their support.

At the top of the year, the Buffalo rapper released a compilation of his early recordings, and co-starred in DJ Drama’s, “350” with Rick Ross and Lule. Griselda’s reign continues.

Opening up the track, Ghostface Killah and Masta Killa bring their killer instincts with their keen verses, while XX3Me rings off with an infectious hook. R.A. continues the madness with his fiery bars and Kool G Rap takes it home for the streets with a gritty rhymes.
