Hip-Hop pioneer Grandmaster Flash was reportedly a victim to theft over the weekend after his laptop was taken following a performance at Jay-Z’s New York City 40/40 Club venue.

Revealing the unfortunate incident via Twitter, Flash offered a reward for its return.

“Givin a reward for my laptop –Im puttin the word out it happened afta my 40/40 show last nite in Ny don’t care how–i need it,” he tweeted Saturday (February 25).
“No questions ask I’m giving a Reward for My Laptop+HardDrive it happen in NyC last nite don’t no how don’t care I need it back” (Grandmaster Flash’s Twitter)
Last year, R&B singer Ryan Leslie offered $20,000 for the return of his stolen laptop.

“Good afternoon, this is an announcement offering an award for $20,000 for the recovery of a black bag we believe was stolen last night, October 23rd, from outside of this club. If anybody has seen anything or heard anything, please contact us at We are offering a $20,000 reward for the return of this bag.” (Roka Productions)
He later raised the reward value from $20,000 to $1 million.

Harlem-based hip-hop artist Ryan Leslie is desperate to get his stolen laptop back – so he’s offering a $1 million reward for it. Leslie was touring in Cologne, Germany, when his laptop was stolen from inside a black Mercedes on Oct. 23. The “Diamond Girl” singer was initially offering $20,000 for the return of his laptop and hard drive, which contains his music. But Saturday, he tweeted and released a YouTube video announcing the $1 million reward. He’s also vowed to continue his European tour, which includes upcoming stops in France, Belgium, Holland and London. (New York Daily News)
Last month, it was revealed that Leslie’s laptop was returned however a reward recipient was not named.

In a bizarre twist of fate, Leslie’s laptop was discovered on November 27 in Stommlerbusch near Cologne, Germany, when a man named Bernd P. happened upon the missing bag while walking through the forest. After finding the missing goods, the discoverer, whose real name is unknown, turned the bag containing the laptop over to local police. But R Les is yet to make good on his reward. Once the bag was recovered, Bernd P. never received his $1 million payout, making the situation public in the media by showing journalists a copy of the singer’s passport and police report and claiming that Leslie won’t return his e-mails. Leslie is yet to speak on recovering his laptop, even after he went so far as to film a YouTube video and accompanying song to help him get it back. Allegedly, the singer had completed his third album ‘Les is More’ and was keeping it on his laptop, as well as other music and visual projects.

Anthony will go to New York, along with Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman.
The Carmelo Anthony trade saga is finally over.

The Nuggets traded Melo to the New York Knicks tonight, a league source said. Denver gets Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks 2014 first-round draft pick, the Warriors’ 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors’ 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash.

Anthony will go to New York, along with Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman.

Anthony was not at the Nuggets’ practice as the team resumed workouts following the All-Star break. Billups left the team’s Monday practice without speaking to reporters.

Nuggets coach George Karl, after learning of the trade, said:

“I’m glad its over.

I’m glad it’s an opportunity to reinvent. I think everybody handled it as classy as you could handle it. There’s some sadness to it, there always will be.”

A source said the Knicks will send Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry to Minnesota as part of the deal.

As part of the trade, Denver will lose a veteran point guard and hometown favorite in Billups.

“I think Chauncey will go down as one of the greatest winners,” Karl said.” His record of what, eight, seven, eight conference finals? That’s incredible. That’s who he is and what he stands for.

“I think there are many people, including myself, that will be sad for Chauncey. I know he loves Denver and we love him.

“But things happen and decisions have to be made, and I’m 100 percent behind the decision that we made, even though it will be dangerous and won’t be the veteran point guard back there.”

When asked about the players from New York he will soon have on his roster, Karl said:

“I think they play exciting basketball. They are exciting young players.

“How we rebuild our team and construct it, there are going to be some tough moments,” Karl said. “But I think it will be fun to see how fast this team will come together,

“My hope and desire is to continue to be a playoff team.”

Nuggets guard J.R. Smith said Monday after practice, after learning of the trade:

“I mean, it’s just rebuilding first. We gotta go forward with what we got. And try to do the best we can in the playoffs.”

When asked if there’s time this season to salvage a Nuggets playoff run, Smith said:

“I think there is. Our backs have been up against the wall many times before.”

The trade will not be made official until the team’s conduct a conference call with league officials Tuesday morning.

Waka Flocka Flame Becomes Million Dollar Man In NC Gunfire Case

Posted in 1 on February 20, 2011 by bobbybounce

Half a dozen men were arrested this weekend in connection to a mid-week North Carolina tour bus shooting involving rap newcomer Waka Flocka Flame over an alleged $1.2 million necklace.

According to reports, all possible suspects are in their 20’s.

Six men have been charged in connection with a shoot-out involving rapper Waka Flocka Flame. The men, all in their early 20s, were arrested Saturday by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team. None of the men charged are from the rapper’s entourage, said police spokesman Rob Tufano. (Charlotte Observer)
The six possible suspects’ names have since been revealed.

Andre Sellers, Antoine Washington, Xavier Hoover, David Bellamy, Barry Lawrence and Antonio Stukes are all being charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and two counts of felony shooting into occupied property. All are under at least $200,000 bond. Some face additional charges. Police say the men were trying to rob rapper Waka Flocka Flame of his jewelry, while his tour bus got a sound system upgrade at a store on Independence Blvd. on Wednesday. Members of the rapper’s security team fired at the men who shot at the bus. (WCNC News)
While initially claiming Waka was not the target, more reporting suggested the botched robbery was intended for Flocka’s chain.

RumorFix has learned exclusively that the gunmen who opened fire on Waka Flocka Flame’s tour bus on Wednesday were after his $1.2 million necklace. Waka’s publicist, Kali Bowyer, tells RumorFix exclusively, “We are pleased with the attentiveness by the Charlotte Police Department in capturing these individuals in such a timely manner. It is such a shame that one would risk the lives of innocent women and children in hopes of stealing one’s jewelry.” (RumorFix)
Following last Wednesday’s shoot-out, Waka was detained by local authorities.

Five days after headlining a hip-hop show at the Tabernacle, Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame may be in trouble again. This time, the incident involves a shootout in North Carolina. The rapper, his brother and another person — someone not involved in Waka Flocka’s entourage — all have been detained after a shooting outside the Car Stereo Warehouse in east Charlotte. Waka Flocka Flame Dodges Gunfire, “D*mn Stress Gone Kill Me”

Waka Flocka Shot At In NC!!
Here we go again? Reports that Waka Flocka dodged bullets this afternoon when his tour bus was shot at in Charlotte, NC. Eyewitnesses say that the bus was approached by two cars, who opened fire at the bus, before the rapper’s security returned fire. One individual was hit and a few were detained. Bang Bang. Waka sent a note out to fans on Twitter, advising that he was fine.

“To my fans N world, I’m good nothing is wrong with my health,” he tweeted. “See yall in Cali for all-star #im1realassperson.”

This isn’t the first time Waka’s been involved in gunfire. Last year the rapper was shot in the arm while fighting at a carwash in Georgia over his jewelry. Late last year the Atlanta MC was arrested after a raid at his home that also netted mentor Gucci Mane.

“Why would I rap and go try to street gang bang? That’s hustling backwards” Waka told a radio station at the time. “Why would I wanna rap all around the world and then go hit the streets and gang bang? I’m a rapper, I’m not a [gang-banger.] How can you gang bang and be a rapper? I don’t understand that,” he said. “I would love to find out where their information is coming from. I can’t wait.”

No word yet on official arrests, but several people are detained.

Update: Looks like Flocka is fine.

Lady Antebellum Are Night’s Big Winners at 2011 Grammy Awards

Posted in 1 on February 14, 2011 by bobbybounce

Even though the ever-flamboyant Lady Gaga went all-out, arriving at the 53rd Grammy Awards ceremony in an egg-shaped pod, it was country trio Lady Antebellum who stole the show, scoring five Grammys. “This year changed everything for us,” said tearful co-vocalist Hillary Scott. The band’s ‘Need You Now’ earned them trophies for Best Country Song, Best Country Performance, Best Country Album, Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

No slouch herself, Lady Gaga grabbed three Grammys, one for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best Short Form Video for ‘Bad Romance’ and Best Pop Vocal Album for ‘The Fame Monster.’ Rapper Jay-Z won three awards in the pre-telecast ceremony while Eminem, the most-nominated artist with 10 nods, picked up only one award: Best Rap Album for ‘Recovery.’

The two upsets of the night came in the shape of a jazz bassist/singer and a Canadian indie-rock band. Esperanza Spalding won Best New Artist, beating out heavyweights Justin Bieber, Drake, Florence & the Machine and Mumford & Sons, while Arcade Fire were awarded Best Album for their 2010 break-out ‘The Surburbs,’ closing the show with the song ‘Ready to Start.’ The end!! =)
