Voodoo Ray, a New York-based dancer known for his slick moves and for being a fixture in the city’s club scene, reportedly died Tuesday. He was 50.

John Rich, a friend of Ray’s, confirmed the loss of his pal Wednesday on Facebook.

“I’m so sorry to say that class and practice will be cancelled tomorrow due to the sudden loss of a great dear friend Rest in Paradise my brother Mr Voodoo Ray,” he wrote. “Life is short love everyone as much as you can because it might be the last moment with them.”

A cause of death remains unclear.

The New York-bred dancer was born Raymond Ultarte, and attended the High School of Fashion Industries in Manhattan, according to his Facebook page.

Before making a name for himself as Voodoo Ray, he went by Boogie Ray, according to XXL magazine.

His three-plus decades in the entertainment industry included showcases in popular ’90s hip-hop music videos, including “We Trying to Stay Alive” by Wyclef Jean, “It’s Like That” by RUN-DMC and Jason Nevins, and “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See” by Busta Rhymes.

Dance moves aside, Ray was also a New York City nightlife staple, a hardworking promoter who put a number of DJs in booths at clubs around the city.

With DJ Tony Touch, he hosted the famous Funkbox dance parties.

Touch mourned his late friend Wednesday with a blacked out image on Instagram.

Other tributes flooded social media, including one from DJ Mister Cee, who shared a tender tribute on Instagram.

“He was the coolest dude you would ever know. He always had a smile on his face. His love for music was impeccable,” he wrote, adding that he last saw the dancer at Ray’s 50th birthday party in April.

The Roots drummer Questlove also chimed in, writing, “Voodoo Ray passed? Damn man RIP,” on Twitter.  RIP Voodoo Ray
